Hawaii!!!!

The very first week of Summer the Koontz Clan embarked to Kauai, and had a ton of fun. With the trip also brought Leah's first plane ride, and first trip to Hawaii!! It was the perfect way to start the summer, we even took Leah out of school early on the last day of school. We arrived in Lihue Kauai on Friday evening and stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort. The next day, up at 4:30 because of the time change, we viewed the sunrise and headed off to the south part of the island, Poipu and Waimea. We hung out at the beach and checked out Waimea Canyon. Saturday evening, we picked up my parents from the airport and we all headed out to the north part of the island, Princeville and checked into my parents time-share/condo. It was so great to have a condo to stay in with a kitchen and the comforts of home, even the Wii, thanks to grandma Carol and grandpa Dan!

Thoughout the week, we went to many beaches and had lots of fun in the sun. Leah could not get over all the critters the island of Kauai had to offer with chickens, doves, geckos and toads everywhere, she was an animal chasing machine. Leah has now become fearless in the ocean and has pretty much mastered boogie boarding and sand castle making. She had a blast and was a joy to be with, as usual. My parents were happy to have a week with Leah as well, and it was great to have them share their time share with us.

It was a fantastic trip and the memories we have we will cherish forever! Below are some pictures for the trip, and here you can check out of few more here: Hawaii pictures

Leah is 7!!

Can you believe that our little lady is now 7??!!?? Holy Moly!! I met this munchkin when she had just turned 3, and now she is a 7! First grade is over in a week and a half, and she is almost in 2nd grade. They say having kids makes your life fly before your eyes, and I totally agree!!

We had a birthday party for her the weekend before her birthday, on May 22, with some of our closest friends. We went to the park near our house and had a pinata, some cake and good times. Her actual birthday was Tues, May 25th. Since we did the party before her actual day, I still wanted to make sure her birthday was special, so on Monday night after she had gone to bed, I decorated her room with balloons, a Happy Birthday sign and streamers. She woke up on her birthday and she was so excited. The balloons, sign and streamers are all still up with no sign of them coming down. She is way too cute!!

Here are some highlights of the party at the park!
